Meet Melinda
How long have you been a funeral arranger?
I have been in the industry for just 1 year as a funeral director. I come from an admin position previously in both retirement living and aged care. I wanted to become an arranger because I wanted a role that aligns with my compassion and wanting to bring care, calm and be a trusted person to families in their time of need.
What do you like about being a funeral arranger?
I have joined this role to walk beside families, helping them during a difficult time making the process as easy as possible and to provide clarity to families of what the funeral process involves. I want to create a space for making sure everything is handled with care so families can focus on what really matters. It is a unique feeling to be able to sit with families and listen to the many stories that are shared.
What do you like about your local area?
The local beaches are great in summer, never crowded and hectic. When the weather is nice I enjoy walking along the foreshore, it gives the area a relaxed feeling which is hard to beat and a wonderful place to unwind. Plus its always a treat to visit many of the local cafés and restaurants down town.
What do you enjoy in your spare time?
I enjoy reading in my spare time. Reading a good book ignites my imagination and creativity. It allows you to live a thousand lives through characters in the stories.
