Meet Purslowe & Chipper Funerals Myaree

Purslowe Funerals and Chipper Funerals have come together to bring more than 235 years of combined experience caring for families. In late 2017, the Myaree funeral home was refurbished to give families a welcoming place to celebrate what life meant to their loved ones. We opened our doors as Purslowe & Chipper Funerals in December 2017.

Purslowe & Chipper Funerals Myaree is centrally located in Myaree with neighbours including Leach Highway, the Garden City Shopping Centre Booragoon and local parks including Robert Street Park Winthrop, Marmion Reserve Myaree, and Len Shearer Reserve Booragoon.

We are proud to share out modern state of the art facilities with Mareena Purslowe Funerals Myaree.

We're proud to serve Myaree families and those in surrounding communities including Booragoon, Alfred Cove, Melville, Willagee, Winthrop, Adross, Mount Pleasant, Brentwood, Applecross, Bateman and more. Our Myaree team can help bring your family together to arrange a funeral service that truly celebrates and honours the life and values of your loved one.

Meet Stephen Kum, Purslowe & Chipper Funerals Myaree's location manager.

What do you enjoy about your job?
I enjoyed the people I worked with. It is a friendly atmosphere, and I actually enjoyed going to work each morning. I felt that the leadership team is great too. They knew all of their employees on a first-name basis and tried to make those personal connections. Lastly, I enjoyed the fact that the office tried to do community outreach with local organizations.

How long have you been location manager?
I have been serving as the location manager since 2019 and have many years of experience in the funeral industry.

What do you enjoy in your spare time?
I am a family man with 2 lovely children age 8 & 10 years old. I spend time with them every weekend as well as with my wife. I love cooking, swimming, reading, travelling and going down south with family.

Are there any special community groups you work with or support?
I am a member of Chung Wah Association (oldest Chinese community in Perth) and a very active member of Chung Wah Lion & Dragon Dance Troupe.
